Hope everyone had a great 4th of July!
We spent the 4th at the cabin. Lots of food and lots of babies. As usual, I put the camera down and then forg0t to take more pictures -- missed the babies in the wading pool and Kyle after his mud ride and...many more.
I finished Max's birthday pillow and now have to wait until his birthday - July 22. I know I've posted about Syko's work before, but the pillow imitates her style : bright , raw edge appliqué applied with black thread. I love her cheerful pieces and wanted that light-hearted feeling in the pillow. Here is a link to her Etsy Shop.
I quilted the front with a sun design, some clouds, and the little sail boats & waves at the bottom, but they don't show up very well in the photos. In retrospect, there are several things I'd do differently, but nevertheless, I'm pleased with the outcome.
It looks like a baby convention! How cute they are. The pillow is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteGerrie - It WAS a baby convention! And a lot of fun for us older folks!
ReplyDeleteThe pillow is sweet! I believe Max is going to love it.
ReplyDeletecuteness, cuteness, cuteness!!!
ReplyDeleteall that great baby loving! what a great holiday weekend
happy 2ness max!
kimy - Thanks! And all those babies are now taking swim lessons together (or their parents are enjoying splash time while babies model little swim suits). Amelia keeps me informed about the baby gang!
ReplyDeleteKim - This was such a quick project, but I was pleased with the fact that it came together with so with little effort! Now about Max loving it...I can't imagine that this will compete with other birthday gifts, but maybe he'll appreciate having a nap pillow 'cause I know he wears himself out frequently!
