I finished this 3rd Halloween quilt. How long
has it taken? A long, long time because I just didn't enjoy working on it much. It is only 17 1/4" x 15", and has taken FOREVER! The post for Sept. 2 was the
completed woven background. I'd look at it and think, I'll get to work on that right away"; right away" is such a relative
phrase. But now it is done! Whew!
She's adorable, Jen!! I'm glad you finished it...you don't have to make any more of them LOL and if you don't care for her, I can send you my snail mail addy!!! LOL Great job!! I don't think I've made a single Halloween hanging...hmmm, maybe I need one. :)
ReplyDeleteYOU may look at it and see pain, but I look at it and see delight! Good job. Maybe after it's lain in storage for a year, when you pull it out next year you will see it with fresh eyes!
ReplyDeleteJen, that is too cool! I love it. We are on vacation on South Padre Island, and I am now hand piecing my second quilt...I am addicted!
ReplyDeleteThanks, ladies. I think the background was too much for me. The color and busy-ness of it... Jane Ann, was it you who suggested cutting the appliques from the woven piece? I wish I'd tried that. Also, this was the 3rd Halloween piece, and sometimes my attention span isn't that long!
ReplyDeleteI, Sioux, am anonymous??? The wifi here at Destination South Padre is the pits!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSioux, you could never be anonymous! I think hand piecing is something I should try...just so I'll have plenty of handwork for my Netflix movie time!
ReplyDeleteIt turned out great! And I love the color! Where is this going to hang?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rian! I'm not sure yet, I've got most of my Halloween stuff "out", but not out.
ReplyDeleteHow cute!
ReplyDeleteVery cute Jen! I have a Halloween pamel that I started working on years ago. I'm not sure it'll ever get done! Congratulations on finishing!
ReplyDeletewonderful folksy little piece!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Deb. I still have some WIPs that need to be completed, but who knows. At least I've managed to get this one done.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debra!
It is so lovely and funny I love it
ReplyDeleteIt was well the effort. It is adorable!
ReplyDeleteEmmy & Shelina, thanks for the nice comments!
ReplyDeleteIt's marvelous. I especially love the well-dressed kitty and her somewhat chagrined expression.
ReplyDeleteI think it's delightful, unlike any other Halloween thing I've seen. But I know how it feels when something just doesn't call you to finish it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, ACey. The kitty is modeled on those vintage halloween cats, but with a more modern face.
ReplyDeleteKay, I appreciate the comment. And don't we all have those pieces that just stare back at us?!
Cute, cute, cute.
ReplyDeleteShe's boo-tiful Jen. I'm still partial to the cat!
ReplyDeleteThis is just so charming, Jenclair.
