A busy weekend with a baby shower for a lovely niece and my Baton Rouge daughter Erin in town with Mila and Max. Wonderful luncheon at Amelia's with the three cousins completely occupied the entire time. None of my pictures came out, and I don't know why, so that was disappointing, but otherwise, a fun weekend with family.
Today, I will be heading to New Orleans with Amelia, who has a conference to attend. I'll get to visit with Suzie again; she is already back to school, so we will have to schedule our limited time accordingly. Since we are staying in the French Quarter, I will be able to occupy my solitary self while Amelia attends the conference.
I think I have almost everything organized and packed or ready to pack. Plenty of books on my Kindle and a slow cloth ready to begin, so even if I get tired of walking through the Quarter, I won't be bored.
Prowling the French Quarter by day and hanging with your friend at night sounds like a perfect getaway!
ReplyDeleteBack home and exhausted. The best was when Suzie took me to a couple of shops on Magazine St. where I bought some fabric at one shop and beads at another! I wish I'd thought to take some pictures, but was too busy looking and choosing! Did make some trips to the Quarter, but just looked. The shops on Magazine were more for local crafty folk and even had classes. I'd love to take some of the classes at Uptown Needle & Craftworks! Are you going to the Jazz Fest this year? Or do you have another fabulous location in mind?
DeleteIt certainly sounds wonderful - have a great time!
ReplyDeleteIt was great fun, and of course, the food was unbelievable! I'm going to start exercising tomorrow! :)
DeleteI just love the work you've shown here and on the previous posts...I'm following your blog....always love your visits too!
ReplyDelete:) Thanks, so much, Debra! I love being able to connect with people who have the same interests, and I love your work. I found you through Penny at Art Journey--internet community is wonderful!
DeleteP.S. I'm following with my other blog, as I don't know how to follow with my Monnie bean blog...I am not so computer savvy...oh well! (it's the icon with my doggie on your 'Following' thingie...) :)
ReplyDeleteMonnie Bean is already on my Feedly list so I know when to check in with you!
DeleteA few days in NOLA is always fun! It's impossible for me to get bored as I love to sit and people-watch. Of course, I generally have some sort of sweet treat in my hands, so as to keep them busy, too. lol It seems that no matter how many times we've been to the same places, we still find ourselves returning, as though we are pulled to old haunting grounds.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about people watching! That is plenty of entertainment, right there. I wish we had had more time, but we certainly made the most of it. :)
