Stuff and Nonsense

 Mail Art:

I was about to just use this failed pc attempt to test colors,
but I started writing on it and it made me laugh.
So I sent it to Suzie.

To Teresa

There are 335,104,629 people in the U.S.
How many have your name?

HowManyofMe.com   (this was fun)

Jenny Mullen

  • There are 15 people in the U.S. named Jenny Mullen.

Isn't this lovely:

“I pray to the birds. I pray to the birds because I believe they will carry the messages of my heart upward. I pray to them because I believe in their existence, the way their songs begin and end each day—the invocations and benedictions of Earth. I pray to the birds because they remind me of what I love rather than what I fear. And at the end of my prayers, they teach me how to listen.”
–Terry Tempest Williams, REFUGE

  •   And I think this book by Jen Bryant & Melissa Sweet
  • would make a wonderful Christmas gift for a child.

 Roget's Words

I posted the following on my other blog,

but it continues to make me smile so I'm sharing it here as well.

This is actually a great gift--there is

always the gift with "batteries not included."

  1. HowManyOfMe is so cool! If I put my name without my husband's last name added there are 9 of me. With my hyphenated last name only me. Love your art work and what a great idea to just label your illustrations. All I see are peanuts so this makes sense!

    1. It is, isn't it. I may try putting in my maiden name or my middle name and do it again. :) I may be using a lot more labels on what I draw!

  2. Neat website. At the moment the page doesn't load. Will try later.

    1. Do try it again! I was surprised there were only 15 people with the same first and last names.

    1. I don't think you would have recognized the peanuts without a label! :) I intended to add a cardinal since I feed the cardinals in a separate feeder--or at least for months it was just cardinals, now some much smaller birds give the peanuts a try.

  4. I thought the peanuts were perfectly recognisable!

    1. :) What if I'd labeled them potatoes? I'm not much at drawing "real" things, but labeling can come in handy!

  5. That was a fun website! I am the only person in the U.S. with my name (first and last) and my husband is one of three with his name.

Love that last picture of the batteries. :)

    1. :) My goodness, Les, you and your husband are rare creatures! I can safely assume that your last name is neither Smith nor Jones. :)
