Lazy

I have a lot of catching up to do.  It is hot and humid, and I often choose to ignore garden chores. My housekeeping has deteriorated.  The poetry embroidery piece gets attention only once in a while.  It's time to re-schedule dentist and doctor checkups that were postponed in April and May, but I keep putting them off.    Since I have been reading (a lot), catching up on book reviews for my book blog is another item on the list.  June has been a little lazy so far.

  1. Your garden looks good, even if you've not done all the chores!

  2. After writing the above, I went out and did some weeding and deadheading, started to sweat and came in and continued to neglect housework. :O

  3. Jen, I love your collaged garden! What a great place to sit and read. I’m neglecting housework as well. There’s always something more fun to do. I also love your collaged embroidery with text! It looks so awesome. Your mail looks so fun.

    1. Thanks, Annie. I do like sitting (with the fan) and reading while occasionally looking up to check on the birds, the lizards, and the squirrels. :)

  4. This is a beautiful post. Your garden and the embroidery and mail art are such a feast for my eyes! It's hot here too-and I wait for a cool evening or morning to do much of anything outside. We are very dry here now. Your garden certainly does not look neglected!

    1. :) Early morning is the best here for any garden chores, too. The humidity is the worst culprit around our area, making the outside more like a steam bath than anyone enjoys. Hope you get some rain soon, Debra!

  5. Oh my goodness, the photos are beautiful! I have some pretty plants in the shade that are doing well. (If I leave them alone.) I take and get absolutely no credit for the garden...that's all Richard. I'm not sure who does the housework. We are getting a big rain right now and I know you recently got too much. Louisiana weather!
My favorite here is the poem embroidery but the mail art is just as beautiful as always. Where do the ideas come from?

    1. Thanks, Mary! I find it interesting to see how couples pair up on chores. So, Richard does the garden and housework is a toss up? Around here, I garden and Fee does most of the cooking. He sometimes does the dishes, then I wait til he's gone and wash them again. It is a generous behavior that shouldn't be disregarded. :)

The embroidery has been a calming activity when I need it, and I've gotten to use some of the quotes I've collected over the years.

  6. Your garden looks wonderful! Our garden is a bit wild but I actually think that looks kind of nice. Granted too hot in my mind to sit outside now. So glad you got my letter!

  7. Jen, your garden looks amazing! And love to see how you have it all arranged so artfully. But sorry to hear it's already so hot and humid there. Humidity slows me down just like you.
so far we have only had mild humidity this summer, but I know it's coming and dreading it.
