Summer Is Here

We've gone from an unusually cool and rainy June to a sauna with temperatures in the high 90's and the heat indexes 106-112 degrees.  In a few days time.  Quite the shock to the system!

Stitching/Crafting

Still working on the Nightmare Catchers, using small quilt blocks left over from larger projects, lots of fabric scraps, items made to embellish other projects and never used,  buttons, etc.  I spend half my time trying to find something that I can use and debating on which scraps will work.

These three will be gifted soon to Mila, Max, and Bryce Eleanor.

I already had these pins to send them, so I added them to the little monsters.

  1. I adore those Nightmare Catchers and the buttons are priceless as well (Love the RBG and Cat Calls especially), not to mention the gorgeous flowers. Lovely post!

    1. I do love those buttons. Even the "humerus" one, because I always include puns in Max's letters. The RBG and Cat Calls are also specific to the girls. :) Thanks for the sweet comments, Diane!

  2. I so love your Nightmare Catchers! The are so fun and creative. Of course you spend half the time choosing what bits of this and that should be used to create each individual doll. Fabulous idea to add the buttons to each doll. I keep going back to look at them. They make me smile. Wonderful mail art!
Of course I could make something out of that. The big ole question is WHEN? And years later it continues to wait. And I don’t do it. Then I toss it. A week later I have an idea for it! Ha!

    1. Thanks, Annie :) You are having fun with your Journal Pages and I'm using my "bits and bobs" of leftovers on the Nightmare Catchers. As for the meme, there should be another one on the topic of tossing something you've held on to forever and a week later having an idea that absolutely needed that item!

  3. Not so much "I could make something of that" as "What could I make of that?", but with that slight adjustment - absolutely!

    1. :) The big question: "What could I make of that?" It is the very one that keeps my decluttering from being successful!

I thought of your work immediately and came by to send a note. What is the first thing on this post? New (at least to me) dolls! Serendipitous indeed. 🤭

  5. Thanks for the link, Mary! I love her little creatures, especially that bee. More inspiration for me! I've been playing with these Nightmare Catchers for about 3 weeks now and am still having getting a kick out of them.

Take care, Mary. More rain heading your way!

  6. That "decluttering" sign is the truth! haha... Love your Nightmare Catchers and the pins just make them even more special. No doubt the kiddos will love these. Your garden flowers are so beautiful. We've really enjoyed the wildflowers we've been seeing but things are starting to seem a pit parched and summer is just about to start! yikes!

    1. Parched is an apt description! If this keeps up, I'm going to have to accept that some plants might not survive the heat. I'm glad to have the Nightmare Catchers to keep me busy inside. The little monsters are fun to make!

Good to hear from you!
