Postcards: I've been making Halloween postcards on Oct. 1 for World Postcard Day. My desk is in chaos, but it is messy fun. Today, I'm going to straighten up my work area because the chaos has encroached so far that I have no place to actually work.

Family: Erin, Mila, and Max are now in Colorado! She's liking her new job in family law, and they are all adjusting to their new surroundings.
Of course, there's a name for it!
Your flower artistry is incredible! I surely do know what that dish drain game is!!!
ReplyDeleteMy husband, who sometimes is so sweet and helpful, is a master at this! :)
DeleteDish Drain Jenga! LOL!
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny. The weird part is when something dishes moves on its own after a few hours. I chalk it up to temperature change during drying.
Spiders lilies are beatiful. My mother loved them.
I've heard that mysterious noise of shifting dishes, but I chalk up all mysterious noises to emanating from friendly spirits. Or cats. Cats are particularly suited for causing mystery and mayhem. Spider lilies, with their color and intricate design make me cheerful. :)
DeleteYour garden and flowers are so pretty! The mail is wonderful. I so love the collage, as usual. I know postcard day is almost here, but I’m still in the sewing mode plus a home improvement project so I probably won’t be adding mail to the mix. Thank goodness a drain full of dishes is a thing of the past! LOL
ReplyDeleteAnnie, if I could have produced a quilt like yours, I'd be in the sewing mood forever. The latest one is one of my all-time favorites, and I'm glad you didn't let the "incidents" keep your from persevering!
DeleteHmm, now we have a name for it. My husband (usually the master at packing things) says he doesn't understand how I stack things as I do without them falling over. Although the picture there does put all my achievements in the shade!
ReplyDelete:) It is a skill!
DeleteThe only mail I have sent really in the past couple of years were cards to my grands. Now that we live on the same compound I have to hide letters around for them. It's not the same when you drive a half hour one way to the post box and hand a letter to an 8 year old. Sometimes we make a game of it and give clues on where he can find his "mail". Love your flowers.

A mail scavenger hunt, Carol! I think that sounds like fun :)
DeleteHeavens to Betsy, Jenclair, I didn't realize how long it's been since my last visit. A month, at least! And I missed so much! Your garden is lovely. Spider lilies are such interesting plants. Your garden must be a riot of color. Thanks for including the names. You identified a few of my flowers. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe mail is always fun. I made a couple of fabric postcards for my sister who was getting chemo. She really enjoyed them. Cheering her up from afar requires some imagination, but she certainly can't afford to break quarantine. I hope to make more since they were such a hit.
Oh, Mary, I'm so sorry to hear about your sister. Chemo is awful, but during this pandemic, the stress must be increased tremendously. I took Mother to all of her chemo visits; she knew I was there and sympathizing. I haven't made fabric postcards in several years, but what an especially thoughtful way to stay in touch with your sister!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear everyone is getting settled in Colorado. I bet the weather and nature is just so different from what they have been used to but hopefully that means a lot of adventures for them as they get to know their new home. Your garden is so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping the kids will not mind a long, cold winter, but right now they are enjoying the weather. Oh, how I'd love less humidity. Can you just imagine the relief from LA and TX heat and humidity? On the other hand, there are those long, cold winters in Colorado. I'm so greedy, I want the perfect climate. :)
DeleteJenny, I'm just catching up on months, it seems, of blogs. I've gotten a new laptop as an early Christmas present and just working on cleaning off my really old computer that has docs I don't want to lose. I can't believe how many home projects that are without going out of the yard. I'll try to respond on some of your other posts but the dish drain Jenga immediately reminded me of my sisters and me as kids trying to never have to dry a dish. Our mother usually interrupted our game as she pointed to the clean dish towels that she expected us to use.
ReplyDeleteI think I've caught up on all your posts on this site. Loved the cards and the photos of flowers, plus the all too relevant memes for us of a certain age. I've tried to respond, and I'm not sure which comments actually posted. I'm on an ancient computer that I'm retiring today. Hopefully my new laptop won't have as many issues. Keep the faith!
