Both Fee and I realized we had to do something about our difficulty hearing. His hearing loss is much more severe, but my high frequency hearing loss has made deciphering some speech difficult. Now, we can both hear a conversation without saying, "Would you please repeat that?" so frequently. Both of us are delighted!
When not on the road, I've been upstairs in the studio playing with cloth and clay. The house? Well, housework has not been a priority.

I've been having trouble with my camera,

ReplyDeleteThanks, Penny! She is a tiny witch, but she has a lot of energy. I bought the blocks several years ago at a flea market; the paint was mostly worn off, but I knew they would make great stands for eccentric creatures. This year I painted a bunch of Halloween colors on them, and they work great as singles or stacks. :)

ReplyDeleteThe clay figures are pretty quick, but I'm working on some cloth and clay figures that take forever. Partly because I have such a hard time making decisions! I dither, and waffle, and spend hours searching for the right hair or fabric. I've made 3 hats so far for two figures and don't like any of them--I think I'm going to give them a rest for a while. :)
DeleteOh my gosh, I love them. I was showing my two Eccentrics to an artist friend this week. She loved them as do I. There is one problem, I have lost the story to my Mardi Gras dancer and I can't remember her name or her background story. It was one of those "I'll put this in a safe place" scenarios and now I can't find it. Do you remember her name? It wasn't Millie, was it?
ReplyDeleteOh! Her name was Mildred, and I don't remember what I wrote, but I know I had her thinking that "you are never to old to learn to dance!" She had a purple tutu so I thought she would be a good hostess gift for your Mardi Gras party! I'm so glad you love my little Eccentrics!

DeleteYou are very talented. I especially admire how you work with the clay-is it paperclay? I think I remembered you saying it was... I've been using it for years, and I still feel so clumsy with it!!! I love your painting of your dolls too-very professional. My hearing is not so good either-I know someday I will be in line for a hearing aid. Can't wait to see what else you are working on!

DeleteI do use air dry clay, Paperclay is the brand I use most frequently. I have it all over my fingers much of the time. :)
