I think I'm going to make a tiny drawstring back out of this piece. [click to enlarge]I was working on this piece when I got the idea of embroidering my tee shirts. I liked the flower shapes, and of course, love the plain little kantha type stitches that are so satisfying to stitch.
Our cooler than normal spring has been such a pleasure. I've enjoyed working in the garden so much more with less sweat equity.
We spent Saturday night at the cabin. I forgot to take my camera, so I didn't get any pictures of Bryce Eleanor and Jon David, but watching these two toddlers (a year and a half) "play" was a cause for much laughter.
We came home last night and will be heading over to Amelia's this afternoon for more Memorial Day food and fun.
Jenclair that piece is just lovely. Perfect for spring and to me it embodies "growth". Have a great Memorial Day.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea Jen. It's a lovely piece & would make a sweet bag.
ReplyDeleteWe've had a warmer than normal spring here, for which I've been grateful.
Have a happy day!
I was just thinking about you last night as I was reading some blogs and wondering if you were at the cabin this weekend.
ReplyDeleteThat would make a sweet bag. I love your embroidery Jenny, it is so joyful...always makes me smile. Your garden is, as always, lovely =-)
ReplyDeleteDebby
Your embroidery always makes me happy.
ReplyDeleteThat is very pretty, Jenclair. Running stitches are my favorite.
ReplyDeleteMyra - Thanks! I like the idea of "growth" because these pieces seem to grow naturally, sort of evolving outward.
ReplyDeleteDeb H - :) I can see why you might appreciate a warmer than normal spring in Alaska!
Connie - Oh, yes, a little country relaxation was in order. :) Lots of food and good company!
Debby - I love the process of the embroidery, you make me feel good about the product!
Jules - Thanks, Jules! That is such a nice comment!
Rian - Aren't running stitches the best? Mine are never equal in size, but they are so satisfying to do.
gorgeous free form and organic stitching!
