While visiting Marie at ZQuilts I saw a link to a site called Quilting Gallery with which I was not familiar. Curious, as always, about a new quilting site, I checked it out. The site has over 1,000 members, and I was surprised (and pleased) to see that Bayou Quilts was already listed. I am one of 4 Louisiana blogging quilters listed. Surely, there are more of us out there? You may be listed, too, so check it out:
Time to get up and get back to the garden, then clean up, get some errands done.
I discovered this site a few weeks ago when Blog Patrol listed it as a referrer for my blog. It gave me a shock to know that I had been listed w/o my knowing it. I know that's silly since the web is open to all, but still... And then yesterday, I discovered a site called Quilt Board that had put up a link to one of my posts, giving me about 50 hits in one day. Another surprise. You never know who's reading.
ReplyDeleteI'm listed but not by state...its a cool site.
ReplyDeleteHi Jenclair,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post about my site and also for linking the banner in your sidebar. I really appreciate the support.
Happy Quilting,
Michele
Kay - I was surprised to find myself listed, but there are so many lists now. And you are so right, you never know who is reading and who may link to you.
ReplyDeleteKaroda - I think it is an interesting site as well. I'm always eager for new quilting stuff - even if I'm doing nothing creative myself.
mishka - You are quite welcome! I look forward to future visits and discovering new blogging neighbors.
I am on this list too. The site owner made a list of the most prolific quilt bloggers and added the links to her site. I think she started with about 550 blogs. The others joined after hearing about it through word of mouth. The site has only been up for 4 or 5 weeks so the owner has done well.
ReplyDeleteWell, I think she is missing a lot of quilting bloggers - me, for instance, and most of my friends. Maybe I am not considered a real quilter because I don't do points!!
ReplyDeleteGerrie - At the moment, I'm not even doing quilts! Maybe she collected names from more traditional quilting sites, rather than art quilt sites. Definitely needs correction!
ReplyDeleteViolette - She has done well, hasn't she? And isn't it amazing how many quilters are now in the blogging world!
ReplyDeletehi! thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. i love finding louisana bloggers so thanks for the quilting gallery link. i also love your cuff bracelets. they're beautiful!!
ReplyDeletesuesue - We Louisianians seem to be under represented on the internet for some reason. Not that there are fewer quilters, but fewer bloggers - at least that I am aware of. Thanks for the nice comment about the cuffs - the latest batch is on hold, but I want to get back to them soon.
ReplyDeletedid I ever crack up when I saw this title! I finally have reconnected with cloth - is so fine!
ReplyDeletekimy - :) I'm back in the saddle again, too! I'll be looking for some fiber-related posts on your quilting blog!
