Yesterday's Labors
Finished the burp cloth and added a flower to the skirt. Another complete set. Yes, Amelia, this one is yours. Now, I'm going to work on something for Ren's baby. I have her quilt, but think some of these onesies and burp cloths will be a nice addition for tiny Chloe Elizabeth. Isn't that a lovely name?

ReplyDeleteWOW! You HAVE been busy and I love what you've been doing. She will be a VERY well decked out young lady! What is a tag blanket? I'd like to know that too .. maybe it's the beautiful ribbons on the sides are tags - for tactile ?

ReplyDeletealso too hopelessly out of the loop to know what a tag blanket is but I love that retro-sixties fabric. My best friend had wallpaper very similar to that one a wall of her bedroom when we were in grade school.
ReplyDeleteRian, Marie, and ACey -- tag blankets were first created by a mom who noticed her infant's interest in tags. The blankets use tags, grosgrain ribbon, and rick rack that seem to intrigue infants. One side is typically fleece or flannel or some other soft, touchable cloth. They usually sell for $15-25!!! And they are usually quite small. This one is 16 1/4" square. Many are much smaller. They generally appeal to babies' kinestheic needs, so size is not the issue, the tactile experience is what counts.

Acey - Having daughters who have children and/or are pregant (as are many of their friends) is keeping me updated on the modern baby needs! Yes, the retro fabric (and colors) are new again! I'm adjusting to this fact...and gradually loving them the second time around.
