She's very simple, but I like this pumpkin (gourd) head doll.
Even if it was 99 degrees when I took this picture,
I think she is fine for early fall through Halloween.
Yesterday was supposed to be 93, and I was excited.
Then I checked in the afternoon and it was 99--
with a heat index of 110.
I just continue to pretend that summer is almost over.
Pumpkin Head liked sitting in the window for a while.
Don't we all love AC?

Later, I'll give her something to hold or a companion.
Still in keeping with "found" stuff,
the stuffed head will make a pumpkin black cat.
I made a simple body and put her aside to think
about arms and legs and clothing.
I've been making some small Halloween tags.
Yes, I do love Halloween. :)
Tomorrow, Erin and the kids are coming up for the Labor Day Weekend! :)
Hope all of you have a great Labor Day Weekend!

Your pumpkin head doll with her fabulous stitching is adorable. I’m looking forward to seeing the cat. Your tags are wonderful. I love Halloween decorations.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Annie! I'm having fun with these projects and going through my Halloween stash. :)
DeleteThe head is perfect ~ simple so as not to take anything away from that wonderfully stitched body. I love her!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I like her, too. There is another, much smaller, stitched body in that UFO box. I may have to find or make a head for her as well. :)
DeleteOh yay!! Halloween decor is on the way! Love your Pumpkin Girl. I think I remember when you were stitching the body. Sometimes projects are put aside and waiting for the perfect finish. Yes, I think she needs a prop. Perhaps the black cat? Have a great holiday weekend.

:) Yep, that was a couple of years ago while I was binge watching Grimm. I miss that show. I've found a ton of stuff that I put aside at different times and am having fun going through it and seeing what I can use now. :) Happy Labor Day, Carol!
DeleteYour little pumpkin head doll has a lovely gentle smile.
ReplyDeleteShe needed a sweetness to go with all that pastel stitching. :) She does look like gentle creature, doesn't she?
DeleteOops, I've been found out. I read backwards, starting with the most recent post and going back when I need backstory. It's the only way to sort of keep up. Anyway. I got mixed up and a little excited on the earlier post. This is where I should have said I love the gourd-head doll (she's cute) and love (really love) the tags. Just ignore me for tonight or anytime I'm having this much fun.
ReplyDeleteHa! I'm thinking about your idea for the heads. I actually have a couple of smaller heads, too. :)
DeleteCute doll - the stem adds a special touch. The tags are really pretty too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shasta. I'm enjoying this pre-Halloween crafting. :)
DeleteLOVE your finished pumpkin head doll, wow!!! The embroidery on the body is so very beautiful and the gourd head so perfectly compliments it. xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debra! I was glad to finally have a way to use that body!
