I've almost finished my current little Eccentric; he is now fully dressed. A few details left to get done, but I'm fairly happy with him.
And since he is almost finished, I went ahead and put away all the paints, brushes, and other utensils, etc. that are needed for playing with the Eccentrics.
I cleared away enough room to begin my first Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative project. Having jotted down a few ideas, I started going through fabrics to see what might work (and what I'd enjoy working with). I pieced, appliqued, quilted yesterday, and finished up this morning -- except for the binding (which I've already made) and a bit of embroidery. As soon as I apply the binding, I can finish all the hand stitching watching a movie.
Last night, I watched Howl's Moving Castle. Yes, it's a Disney movie, but I enjoyed it!
I've intended to read the book by Diana Wynn Jones for some time, but never got around to it. The movie was a nice way to fill the evening as I quilted. Well, except for the fact that I kept stopping to watch and see what was going on.
Have a great weekend!
I hope you will show us your Alz quilt when you are done.
ReplyDeleteAlways enjoy seeing your Eccentrics!
It's a Miyazaki movie, isn't it? I saw it in Japanese (with French subtitles). It's great. You must see his other movies.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing the finished quilt.
Debra - B.E. arrived for a visit last night so I didn't get to finish the quilt, but maybe I'll finish today after she leaves. :)
ReplyDeleteFrancoise - Yes, Howl's Moving Castle is a Miyazaki movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will look for his other movies!
