Fee gave me this type case and some of the type was still there. I have more pieces of type that I've bought at flea markets and will have to search for them.
I put some of my pretty shiny threads in it (saw a similar picture somewhere and loved it),
and I love the effect in my very own type case, too!
I wish I had a couple more. Guess this calls for a flea market search. What a shame. I'm really gonna' hate that!
Yeah, bummer about that....
ReplyDeletePretty, pretty. I like it! Those types are pretty cool! Kind of like clip-art.
I have a couple of type drawers too. Mine were in such bad shape I had to add wood putty in places and then paint them. They hold various sundry items in my sewing room.
ReplyDeleteRian - Sometimes you just gotta' do what you gotta' do. :) I
ReplyDeletehaven't been to a flea market or an antique store in at least a month.
Paula, the Q - They work well to keep things in plain sight, but off the work space, don't they?
What a great idea for using a type drawer. I have one that came from the print shop of our hometown weekly newspaper, that was owned and operated by my first husband's family, and it's just leaning up on a cabinet in the office, holding nothing. Now I know what to do with it.
ReplyDeletehow functional and in its own right a thing of beauty.
ReplyDeleteFran - And your's has sentimental and family value! Think of all the little sewing items that could find a new home!
ReplyDeleteKaroda - I really like the way the spools look so cheerful!
