I had a chance tonight to finish my oven finger mitts. Here are my new kitchen accessories: an oven mitt, scrappy potholders, and finger mitts.
These were quick and easy and look a heck of a lot cleaner than the old ones that are going in the trash tomorrow (er, today, I guess, as it is after 12:00). I will get to see how well "insulbrite" works.
I love the way these things turned out and am pleased for you that were able to meet the task head-on.
ReplyDeleteHey, those are really cool! I've never seen those lid holders before. Very clever.
ReplyDeleteGet OUTta here! Those are too cute! Maybe next year for gifts....
ReplyDeleteThese look wonderful and so darn functional! :-) I am very impressed. :-D
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, and practical too. I never used the "finger mitts' before, they look like a good idea.

Thanks, ladies! I'm really quite pleased with them. The oven mitt actually fits my hand and isn't as awkwardly bulky as the old one. The finger mitts are great for sliding out the oven trays or manuevering a cookie sheet or dealing with hot handles on lids. Again, less bulk. I finished one last one a few minutes ago.
ReplyDeleteAfter the time spent on experimenting until I found the easiest method, they sew up in a few minutes.
They may be something I work on throughout the year and hold on to for gifts, Jane Ann, and what is left over can start me out with clean accessories next year!
Your projects look great. Love those little fingermitts. What a clever idea.
ReplyDeleteAre you clever or what? Nifty!
ReplyDeleteReally nice. I especially like the mitt.
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
