Circles and Squares

I'm working on another little quilt now, another really bright one, using mostly scraps and left over bits. All the 4 patches are sashed now and up on the design wall, and I'm ready to begin the border. The little circles are just stuck on, but if I keep them, I think they will be raw edge.I'm thinking about a pieced border, but haven't gone much into that idea yet.

Hey, Thomas! Hope you and Mike and Jimmy have a wonderful time in China!

So do I. You say the circles are "stuck on." With what? I've never found a fabric glue that withstood laundering.

how fun!! I love it - good use of scraps! isn't it amazing what black fabric does. I do this one pieced border that is EASY that might work well if you haven't picked one out already. check out my studio site. the raw edges on the circles is a great idea- will save tons of labor. I finished piecing a baby quilt for my daughter's friend using 100% scraps and left over bits. have to take a pic, you've inspired me to share.....

zquilts - Thanks! I'm trying not to slip back into the "no quilting" wasteland.

dianhmow - I just cut them out and put them on the fabric, no glue, to see if I wanted them and where. When I'm ready, I'll use a a glue stick or some fusible and then stitch.

kimy - I love the effect of the black and bright. As for the border, I'm working on a border called "hopscotch" from Dinane Hires' Playtime. Please do share your baby quilt, Kim; your work is so beautiful!

Gerrie - :) Thanks, Gerrie. I never "know what"!

Rian - I have cycles when that B&W / bright combo is all I seem to do. Right now, though, I'm starting to look at a piece of discharged fabric from a couple of summers ago and wondering what I can do with it.

Connie - Thanks!

Look at you go! This quilt is so cheering to the spirit. I love the ratio of black/white/brights.

(just got back online and responded to your tag for today's post. It's my third go-around with it in as many weeks!)

For some reason this makes me think of those English Licorish candies that my DH likes so much. It's very nice.

What a nifty little quilt top you've made since the last time I visited. Love the circles - I defintely think you should keep them!

I don't think it needs a pieced border. I think it is great the way it is.
