Stepford Wife

I've been a pretty sorry blogger lately. Have gotten out of the habit and wonder how I ever had anything to say when I was posting almost every day! I miss it, though. My book blog continues because I continue to read, but quilting hasn't been progressing much, so there isn't much to say on that front.

Since I've been on the thyroid medication, I've felt better, but sometimes wonder if I'm the same person. I've been keeping my house clean and cooking. Cooking! You hear that, Rian? What an absolutely stunning development; poor Fee is caught between looking at me suspiciously and being pathetically grateful. He calls and asks if I need anything from the grocery store and, because I usually manage to forget an ingredient at the grocery store, or think I have plenty of pasta or green onions or whatever, I can appreciate his concern. Hell, I even made zucchini bread yesterday. Desert, too?! What's up with the Stepford Wife? Well, hardly that, I suppose, but closer than I've ever been.

I haven't discovered how to load pictures on this little laptop I'm using, and posting pictures is such a large part of blogging, isn't it? I only intended to use it for a short while, but I still haven't gotten around to taking my poor computer in for a checkup, diagnosis, and whatever treatment is required.

On the wonderful side of life, Amelia and Chris will be having a little girl in December. They just found out on Tuesday that it will be a girl, but they've already chosen a name: Bryce Eleanor Chandler. The Eleanor is in honor of my mother, Amelia's grandmother, and I really can't express how touched I am that they've chosen to honor her this way.

  1. All this and dessert too! My goodness! I'm glad everything is okay, when you were away from your blog I worried about you. When I don't blog I can get so much more done.

  6. Rian - I can feel this phase wearing off. What a shame! It is true that you can get a lot more done when you don't blog, though. Well...you get everything done, alter a wedding dress, have company, visit the beach, and blog.

Debbi - Hmmm! We will see how long I can continue to muster enthusiasm for matters domestic!

kimy -True, there is always so much going on in the summer, but it won't be long before we are driven inside by the heat and humidity.

Thanks! I think Eleanor is a wonderful name, too! I'm so pleased with their choice!

Nellie - Thanks! I'm still observing your progress with the lake series and amazed at the unique quality in each piece!

Delta - Thanks. I'm hoping to be a more consistent blogger!

  9. Gerrie - :) If I keep cooking Fee and I will both need new wardrobes! Taking that little pill doesn't bother me one bit; I'm certainly in good company!

jude - My voice is a bit rusty in the blog department, isn't it?

  11. Taking thyroid meds makes a BIG difference. I can always tell when I get "out of whack" too little and I sleep a lot...not enough and I sleep too much...but no dose makes me want to clean! LOL

  12. Thanks, Fran; I hope to have photo capabilities soon. My yard is a more of a jungle now because it has rained almost every day for the last 6 weeks. Just finding a day to mow the yard is an accomplishment!

Rissa - :) The cleaning bug is lessening, but I do think it is connected to the medication, and I am sleeping more and dreaming vividly for the first time in many, many years!

There advantages and disadvantages to a clean house; if I have an interesting project the house will always be neglected. I'd rather have an interesting project!

  13. So glad to come home and discover you're back. And what good news that you're feeling well. Glad to hear about the Barilla web site. If they remove their no cook noodle recipe for lasagna, I'll need it.
