I decided I wanted a snowman, and looked up patterns for fabric balls, but my printer wouldn't work. Did some measurements and made my own pattern.
I thought my pattern would make a four piece ball, but when I put it together, I had to add another piece, which worked just fine. This is the first time I've felt like making eccentric characters in over a year, but suddenly, I'm in the mood to stuff fabric and make clothes for snowmen, and I'm going to try another 4 piece ball with a little adjustment to my pattern.
Dressing him was fun!
Then...
just as I finished my snowman, Erin called!
It snowed in Baton Rouge--enough to make real snowmen!
Wow, when was the last time Baton Rouge got snow???
Max and Mila had a blast!
I'm jealous.
Snow is a novelty in Louisiana,
and we never have a chance to get tired of it--
unlike many areas of the country.
I heard the south was getting snow-and I thought of you. So far it looks like that area has gotten more than us! But I'm sure we'll catch up. Living in NY State-we can have 4 feet!
ReplyDeleteI love your snow guy!!!
We are in North Louisiana, and we didn't get any snow. My daughter lives is South Louisiana where it is almost always warmer, and they got enough snow to make snowmen! Erin was as excited as the kids. It was like a rare and beautiful Christmas gift for them. :)
DeleteLove the snowmen!! Weather has been balmy in NoCal, albeit cold at night, and frighteningly dry and hot in SoCal. There's no normal weather anywhere, anymore.
ReplyDeleteIt has been balmy here until the last couple of days when we got a cold front, but getting warmer each day. SoCal has been a scary place lately--unbelievable the destruction from the fires. Glad you are north of the fires, Connie!
DeleteJen, your snowman is SO adorable! I’m so impressed with your designer clothing line for him too!I. I love the stitching details you added to his hat and the cancelled postage for his coat patch. I’ve been away from snow living for a bunch of years. It’s a bit of sticker shock here in the beginning, but I’m still glad to be back home, snow and all.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Annie! I had so much fun making him; I have two more in progress, one almost finished. I'll keep one, but two are going to be gifts.
DeleteI bet it is sticker shock to move from a warm climate to a colder one, but it is always good to come home. :)
Goodness, your snowman arrived with perfect timing, didn't he!
ReplyDeleteIt was one of those serendipity moments! :)
