Yes, favorite poems do carry a lot of power; Mother's love of this one led me to love Emily Dickinson and to read her poems to my children, too.

Deborah - It is interesting that some projects call for raw edge applique and others definitely need a more finished look. I enjoy both, but knew this pillow needed raw edge.

Myra - Thanks, Myra. I used a lot of scrap pieces for the pillow, and I really need to order some more "brights" because I enjoy working with them. Glad you like the poem!

Kay - :) My embroidery needs to improve if I'm going to do more text on quilts!

jude - Such a tiny poem and so full of depth and meaning! Can't wait to see your version for the charity quilt.jenclairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06046532245054911248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13828728.post-71914263173967849082008-10-13T06:56:00.000-05:002008-10-13T06:56:00.000-05:00a crazy coincidence, i am involved in a charity qu...a crazy coincidence, i am involved in a charity quilt thing and the theme is hope and i was thinking of doing 'hope is a thing with feathers'. and here it is already. and it is great!i have always loved that line.judehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08093892425910458016noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13828728.post-77254821199831653842008-10-12T19:05:00.000-05:002008-10-12T19:05:00.000-05:00How cute.
