The Rain Is Gone...for a couple of days, at least

I'm so behind on mail.  A slew of letters await replies, and I need an entire day of catching up.  I've just gotten started on some replies.
outgoing
A couple of thank you postcards

incoming

Max and Mila were here this weekend, and B.E. joined them on Saturday night.  I didn't take a single picture and am kicking myself!  (I just found one of Max's library books and will have to get in the mail today.  Excuse for just finding it?  There are books all over this house--on almost every surface.)

We've been having unusually cool weather for May and plenty of rain.  Unfortunately, our garage door decided to give out, so I've been having to open it by hand, back the car out, get out in the rain, go back and pull the door back down, then get back in the car considerably wetter.  Nothing like arriving at appointments worse for wear.  The new motor was installed yesterday. :)

The gardens (ours and everyone else's) have thoroughly enjoyed the rain, but I'm glad we are going to have a few days without it.

  2. The rain may be trying, but I'm sure gardens and farms need it!

  4. Jen, your outgoing mail is awesome. I love those bright Poppy flowers in that first postcard. What fun the one about weight and eating goodies is. The next collage too is terrific. That is such a sweet first incoming. The contents of your mail box when you get it must really give you a thrill with all that color and design. Gardens everywhere are showy. Thank goodness for all our glorious rain. Especially here in Cali where we've had a 5-year drought.

    1. Erin and her crew sent me a HuGe basket of goodies from the Wooden Spoon for Mother's Day--cookies, brownies, tiny loaves of zucchini bread, and more! Delicious--full of calories :)

I know you are appreciating the rain in CA after such a long drought--and not only for the gardens!

  6. The yellow Hirshorn card! Wow! Just wow! I think my favorite is the watercolor on the top, but the little girl drawing (just above the yellow) is really cute, too. Reminds me of Holly Hobbie. Remember her?
