Time for Halloween Decorations

We have forsaken the summer at long last.  The days are still warm, but the evenings and mornings are deliciously crisp and fresh.

I have brought most of my Halloween Eccentrics down and have given them the run of the house.  Not a new witch or monster has been added this year, but I already have to make an effort to find places for them all.

Bitter and Boo
hang out in the same spot each year.

I had fun with the gourds last year.

I love October!

  2. If you're already struggling to find nooks for your Eccentrics, maybe it's as well you haven't done another one just yet...

    1. Oh, and that is not all of them. It is just that I've had so much fun making them for the last few years.

    1. Making all of the odd dolls is one reason I love Halloween. Not sure why the mood did not strike me this year. :\

  4. Seeing your Eccentrics again is as much fun as last year. They have such personality and I love that you name them, especially Bitter and Boo. The mantel is dizzy with excitement and humor, and those fall colors!

Didn't you have a character made out of book last year? I was looking forward to seeing it again. (I hope it was you because there's not much chance of finding it out in blogland. I really should stop trolling the internet.) Don't fuss about getting it out if you did make one. I was just so enamored with it, that when I saw the first picture here, I immediately thought about it.

    1. Thanks, Mary! I do have two book characters--I may bring the weirder one downstairs since you've reminded me. :)

  5. Halloween is the BEST. I could leave it up all year, but then it would not be special. In the past I did leave my large skeleton up till Christmas and decorate him as Santa. My youngest grandson used to call him "Bamma's Boyfriend".

Your oddities have such a wonderful style...they are like a Halloween Carnival!!

    1. I love the idea of leaving your "boyfriend" out and decorating him for Christmas! I have made so many Eccentric figures over the years, but the Halloween ones are always the most fun.

  6. Oh what a wonderful Halloween mantel/fireplace! I love how you've designed your decorations. I've pinned that photo because there is so much inspiration there. So many other fun pieces as well. I also love your vintage clocks.
