Five Finishes

This September has been a busy one,
but I've still managed to spend a lot of time in the studio!

Finishes for September.
Oops, I forgot to include the tiny witch!
Six Finishes.

All of these guys (and the tiny witch)
are going downstairs.

My favorite is Maude, the witch.
Her hat may come off after Halloween,
and the broom may be replaced with
a Thanksgiving menu...
or something.

She looks a proper housewife to me,
and surely she would have a pumpkin pie in the works.

Anyway, she may stick around longer
and join the Autumn gals,
who are eager to make an appearance.

  3. Wow-I admire your talent-that witch's face is so good....I know we're not supposed to compare ourselves to others- but my doll faces...er well, they need some work!

    1. I love your work, Debra! You have a definite style! I keep trying different things, experimenting. The witch is a head I made after taking an online class from Marlaine Verhelst--it was on expressions and was really interesting and helpful.

  4. Now that you mention the Autumn gals, the witch does look like a proper housewife and would fit right in with a few costume tweaks. Not much though, I love her dress! Hmm, the others have a definite Halloween-y feel to them. Did you make the crow on the yellow skelly's arm? I am fascinated with how small you can create.

Don't you love a busy period that you can look back on and see accomplishment? Definitely you've been successful this month. Those colorful pieces look great and are ready for trick or treating groups.

    1. No, I bought a pack of little crows last year at either Michael's or the Dollar Store. :) I have used a couple and have some left. And yes, Mary, I love having had a busy this month! I go for long, fallow periods with no creating at all, and then I work in at a hectic pace, unable to get to all of the ideas in my head. More ideas than time!

  6. It's like having a little group of friends in hiding, just waiting to come out and greet each season with you. Like living with fairies! Better than the Borrowers even.

    2. MousesHouses looks like great site, not sure I've visited it but I've heard of it. Like Tom and Jerry books that showed the mice's hole in the wall house.
