Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative - Sept. Auction

Unleaving, the art quilt I made for AAQI is in this month's auction!  I wrote about it here, in a December post, before I mailed it in.  The photo isn't too good, but the colors in the eco-printed and dyed quilt are monochromatic and not very dark.

I'm thrilled that one of my quilts was selected for the auction!  There are some wonderful quilts in this month's auction, and you can bid on them here.  I'm trying to choose which ones to bid on because I'm building a collection of these quilts.  All quilts are donated and all profits go to Alzheimer's research.

We've had a wonderful Labor Day Weekend, even if we didn't get to go to New Orleans as planned.  Bryce Eleanor visited and entertained me for three days.  And my best friend Suzie came over to spend some time on Sunday.  We have been friends since junior high, and although we don't get to see each other but once or twice a year, we always pick up right where we left off.

  1. I've blogged about your auction quilt twice already on my Liberated Challenge blog. I think it's just lovely and I hope you earn a lot of money towards research from it! Always fun to see what you and your beautiful family are up to. It looks like creativity is in full steam in one way or another :) That little B.E. is so darling..always love photos of her and her projects!

  4. Love "unleaving" and think it's most clever. Reminds me a little of the new word, "unfriend." BE looks like quite the creative little soul!!

  5. Michelle-- I found it, but couldn't comment! Thanks so much,Michelle, you are always so generous in so many ways.

B.E. is a fun visitor to have. She entertains me as much as I entertain her. She is quite the character!

Nancy - Thanks! I loved doing the eco printing with the leaves I gathered in Chapel Hill, NC last fall!

Stephie - We did have a great time even I missed seeing my other grandkids and the trip to the N.O. zoo. :)

Rian - Thanks! The poem has always been a favorite and suited the theme. Ha! Unfriending is a serious thing, too! Yep, BE has quite a creative bent. You should hear some of the songs she makes up! ;p

  6. Hi Jenclair,
Just getting around to reading a few of my favorites and first up is your AAQI quilt. I will go right there in a minute but wanted to tell you what a beautiful quilt it is.

So glad you got to visit with BE and your childhood friend. We had all the kids and grands at one sitting for supper on Saturday! I tease them that it takes rice and gravy to get them all here at once.

Best wishes on raising funds for AAQI. Your talent shines in this one.

  7. Mary - Thanks! I'm always grateful when I have the opportunity to see Suzie. Old friends are always a joy, and Suzie and I are old friends in every sense of the word!

Make me rice and gravy, and I'll come, too. Mmmmmmm.

Hope the quilt make some money for research in AD.
