:) Yesterday Was Terrific

Yesterday, the nicest thing happened--Ami Simms called me!  She called to thank me for the 3 little quilts I donated to the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative!  She mentioned each one specifically, and I was absolutely blown away.  With all that the woman does, to take the time to call and thank people for donations shows such a generous spirit!

I floated all day.  Each time I thought about the call, I was alight with gratitude for Ami Simms and all she does.  What a remarkable woman and what a remarkable organization.  The AAQI is all volunteer and every penny earned goes to research.  Would that more charities would take this format.

So now, of course, I'm looking back through my journal for ideas I'd jotted down for Alzheimer Art Quilts!

This is one of the Halloween flower bouquets  I've been working on lately.

They have been fun to play with while watching Netflix movies like Goodnight, Mr. Tom and Zelary.

Have a great weekend!

  1. How nice to be called and thanked for something generous you did!! That was really nice of that woman to call you when she is so busy.

I love the new fabric bouquets!! Have a great weekend!!

  2. Well, that was so nice of her! I've heard her speak, years ago, and really enjoyed it.

Those movies look really good...I wish they came in streaming format as that is how I must get netflix while in NY...ah well, plenty of others to choose from while I'm here =-) I will put them in my DVD queue...

  3. Thank you for sharing. :)

  4. Sherri - I can't tell you how thrilled I was about that call!

The fabric flowers are so easy and fun!

Debby - I'd love to hear Ami speak sometime!

The movies were both good; both WWII time period.

Connie - Couldn't keep something that made me so happy to myself!

  5. I agree! What a great treat for you from Ami!

  6. Jen, I just need to say that Ami calls a lot of people for Quilts a Month etc. but to call you for donating tells me that YOUR quilts blew her away. You are an artist through and through and your quilts reflect this!!!

  7. Michele - That makes it even better! I have several ideas that I've been mulling over for a few more quilts, but haven't moved forward yet. Thanks so much for the this really lifted my spirits!

Good to hear from you!
