This and That

I love this  skirt (via Craft Gossip, via Threads Magazine).  Get the tutorial here!

Love the different colors and fabrics in the pin-tucked "ruffle" around the bottom; such a graceful effect.

Mary at Fleur de Lis Quilts is having a give-away--check it out if you like French style and fleur de lis appliques.

A new blog discovered-- Relished Artistry.  I really like this vest on his Etsy shop.
Another new blog discovered--A Handmade Life.  Dixie writes about successful entrepreneurs.  She features artists and craft people who have turned their avocations into money making ventures.  Great interviews and tips.-----

I continue playing with my little Eccentricities, making progress, then stalling in the on-going cycle.  I'm in a stall right now and hope it won't last long.

Reading a lot.  Just finished the map of true places by Brunaria Barry and loved it, haven't reviewed it yet, but will soon.  I received an ARC of The Lace Reader in 2007 and thought it was excellent.  The map of true places didn't disappoint and it also takes place in Salem.  I  recommend both of these books.

Rooting some plants, although the heat is so unbelievably oppressive.  Mostly staying inside when I can.

We will be heading for Natchez, MS tomorrow.  Fee has some work to do near there, and I am going along because on Saturday, we will head on to Baton Rouge.  Erin's birthday is Sunday.

How did this all happen so fast?   My sweet little blond baby is a lawyer and a roller derby girl with two children of her own.

  1. Thanks for the shout out, JenClair. I know how you feel about this heat--we suffered through 100's all week and still no rain! My poor garden is about finished, except for the okra which is unbelievably happy.
    Enjoy your weekend!

  2. I'm not sure it will ever rain again! We just got home to find even more stuff burning up after our weekend away. Mmmm, I do love me some pickled okra!
