AAQI Auction

The June auction ended, and through persistence, I was able to win Sparks of Heavenly Fire by Michele Bilyeu of With Hearts and Hands.  Laddie (my father) died last June of this terrible disease, and I felt that owning Sparks would be a fitting reminder of my father and his life.  I contribute to various AD causes, but had never bid on an art quilt that benefits Alzheimer's research. Check out the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative; it is certainly a worthy cause.

I like everything about this quilt--from Michele's signature image to the quote by Washington Irving.

  1. Lovely post, Jen! Many blessings and thanks again for buying the art quilt and supporting this cause. You are a wonderfully giving woman in this world and I am so delighted your persistence and your own light is bringing my little quilt into your own life and home.

  2. Wonderful, JenClair! The work of AAQI is very important. My mom also had the disease and since her death I've wanted to contribute a quilt. Michele's beautiful quilt has inspired me and I can't wait to get started.
