Another Week Begins

I really like the tutorial for a summer fabric wreath over at The Cottage Home.  Why does she have so many wonderful fabric scraps to use?  Because she makes such cute toddler dresses...check out her Cottage Mama etsy shop.

Prediction for today -- 101 degrees with a much higher heat index. The first day of summer and it feels like the dog days of August.  Our air conditioner isn't keeping up with the heat, and it is pretty uncomfortable!  The air conditioner man just arrived, so hopefully, by this afternoon, it won't be 80 degrees in the house.

This weekend, we will be going to Jackson, MS to watch the Baton Rouge Red Sticks take on the Magnolia Roller Vixens.  This will be our first Roller Derby event, and we are eager to see daughter Erin play!

Amelia and Bryce Eleanor have gone with friends to Florida, but she hasn't sent me any pictures yet.
Hint, hint!

I'm still not getting much done creatively, but last night, I watched some of the first disk of Glee from Netflix and embroidered.  :)

Also Debra's new adventures are inspiring me to actively think of some  new goals to set.  I did pretty well with last year's goals, but slacked off.  My month in Austin in Yoga teacher training was my crowning achievement.  Yet, for the last month or so, I've been much less diligent about my personal yoga practice, and I can feel the difference physically, mentally, and emotionally.  My reading so far this year has been mostly mysteries, with little nonfiction; need to make some changes there.  In fact, a lot of my goals from last year need updating, and I have some new ones in mind.

The Summer Solstice seems like as good a time as any to set new goals!

(and once again, I can recommend The Vigorous Mind wholeheartedly...an inspiring way to approach life)

  2. Now I am really looking forward to my copy of Vigorous Mind showing up! All of a sudden everything looks like fun-stuff I wouldn't have thought so before-a change of attitude is amazing how it can work.

I bet you would be an amazing yoga teacher. Mondays are tough for me-all stiff but by the end of class, I feel like a new woman.

  3. Lindsay - Beautiful wreath and beautiful baby clothes!

Debra - Yep, a change of attitude is certainly needed around here. A little more adventure is in order (and a little more yoga practice)!
