Black Beans and Birthdays

I fixed black bean enchiladas the other night, and Fee loved them!  He surprised me by liking them so much--since he doesn't care for one of my favorites, black beans and brown rice.  Anyway, when I saw this recipe for black bean burgers  over at Live Blessons, I knew I wanted to try it and soon!

I'm always looking for heart healthy recipes now.  Have you any to share?

Have been doing laundry and cleaning house today since we will be going to Baton Rouge tomorrow for Mila's dance recital and birthday.  Mila wanted a skating party which will be great fun for the kids.  I'm not sure whether I'll be brave enough to try. (old bones, ya' know)

It is really hard to believe that Mila will be 7.  Grandkids grow up much faster than your kids do!

Still working on my little "what lies inside" dolls.  Much slower than anticipated. I did finally paint and seal the owl that has been hovering for weeks waiting for a little burnt umber stain.

  2. :) Abi, you won't be able to steal much from me! I have about 5 recipes...I'm not much of a cook. My husband is much better at it than I am. However, he is trying to get his cholesterol down, which means a we are searching for new items for the menu.

I love your dolls! Have a great time in Dubai!

  3. y dad once told me that my black bean chili was pretty good, but would be, "great, if I added some meat to it."

The black bean burgers look interesting and easier to make than other recipes I've seen. Thanks for the link.

  5. My black bean chili is from the Greens Cookbook. Greens is a vegetarian restaurant in San Francisco run by the Zen Center. It's on the waterfront and is a great place to visit if you find yourself in San Francisco. I just googled and found the recipe online here:
