Mildred

Mildred decided that it is never too late to learn to dance!
There she is on the left...she didn't become a woman until after I carved and sanded and painted her face.  She was going to be a robust little man, but gradually she became more feminine.

  1. This reminds me of my friend who always wanted to take ballet as a child but never did. When she was near 50 she decided it was finally time to fulfill her lifelong dream and she signed up for classes. She has danced in recitals and in the California Ballet's production of The Nutcracker, and she quickly learned to dance in toe shoes...I so admire her tenacity in going after her dream! Last I heard, at 60 she is still going strong with the dancing. I LOVE Mildred! Makes me want to dance myself! =-)

  3. Debby - Thanks for sharing that with me! There are so many things that we've all wanted to try, and it is important to take any opportunities that are open to you.

I didn't begin taking yoga until I was 59, and now I'm a card-carrying RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) with the Yoga Alliance and love it. I did have a background in dance, gymnastics, and tai chi, but still felt a little old to be begin yoga. So glad I did!

ger - Ha, ha, ha! Now that is funny!
