Flowers

I've made a couple more flowers using Calamity Kim's tutorial. Lack of rain and high temps don't bother these flowers at all (wish I could say the same for my hydrangeas!).Yesterday, after days of 99-102 temps, we were finally blessed with rain for the scorched yards and real life gardens!

I'm trying to get chores and duties done because next week I'll be leaving for a month in Austin. Oh, yes, it will be HOT there. Hotter than here--Austin was 106 degrees yesterday, although they've had some thunderstorms to cool things down, too.

Amelia, Chris, and Bryce Eleanor; Erin, Mila, and Max (coming up from Baton Rouge); and Fee and I are the only "for sure" participants for a July 4th celebration at the cabin, but these things often expand.

Today - a doctor's appt. to check on my swollen shoulder (the result, I believe, of a rather hasty move into side plank--and a foolish injury right before intensive yoga training in Austin...), then lunch with Thomas, a visit to Laddie, and hopefully, the library and grocery store. However, it would not surprise me at all if the last two are postponed due to laziness.

  1. Your fabric flowers are stunning! At least they won't wilt!

  2. Darlene - Thanks! The flowers are fun to make, and of course, the non-wilt factor is especially appreciated!

  4. Sounds like you need to hustle to get everything done on time. Will you have a chance to enjoy Austin or is it all about yoga classes?

  5. oh Jen I wish there was a way to package up some of our rainy days and express ship them to you! I can empathize with the thyroid rebalancing and the toll it does take. What I hate most is the way these things turn my brain into a sieve and make me super emotional but it quite often feels that they are not *my* emotions - just "emotions" all in capital letters. Right now my levels are holding steady. Hope by the time you read this your shoulder has healed.

Debra - I will be pretty busy with yoga, but I certainly intend to enjoy Austin! I have been on the run the lately, trying to make sure I'm covering all the bases. Looking forward to a little relaxation this weekend when the kids and grandkids gather for the 4th.

ACey - I will take any rainy days on offer!

The thyroid re-balancing is in progress--amazing the difference that the new medication can make. Good to hear that your levels are holding steady for the moment!

My shoulder is evidently going to be a bit of a problem. The doctor has scheduled an MRI. Bad timing!

  7. Shasta - Thanks! I'm thinking they would look nice on headbands or on a jacket. Right now, I'm just playing, though. :)
