All Done

after two years of sitting around! The binding is done, the quilt washed and squared. As usual, I forgot about a label, which may or may not ever be applied.

I've been playing with a few things and have still not finished organizing my new sewing room, but in another two years...who knows?

  1. Just put the pertinent information in that big blue dot on the back with a pigma pen. Love the quilt.

  2. Jenclair, I just love it. I love the squares and I love the circles. I also love the binding, the only thing wrong with it is that I didn't make it. Brilliant.

  3. wow has it really been two years?!? The finished results are quite lovely. You do have a way with a B&W/bright colors format.

  5. I absolutely, totally love your creative use of front with back on this one, not too mention its vibrancy and overall charm. Love it!!! And Paula is right, prisma pen...on the back. As famous as some of the big time quilters are, many of them (collaborative quilters Gwen and Freddy come to mind, first) still just write on the backs of their quilts. It's probably the first way labels were ever used on quilts and it's quite charming, besides. You're so artistic, you could even draw a little something special along with the pertinent quilt making info ;)

  7. This is wonderful. i love the combo of 4 patch and spots, and the colours are great.
Ive never put a label my quilts - probably because im not sure I'd want to claim ownership - but if i made this i would!

  8. paula, the quilter - That is a great idea- thanks!

Stephanie - Thanks! It had been folded and on the shelf without a binding for so long, I'd forgotten about it.

ACey - Yes, I put it away once when Laddie was hospitalized, got it out and quilted later, then put it away again during another emergency. That is a lot of neglect for a quilt I actually liked!

Debra - :) Now that's the right attitude!

Michele - Thanks, Michelle, for such nice comments! I think the Pigma pen is exactly the right answer for a label.

    Debby - :) Finally!

paulahewitt - You, of all people, should label your quilts!

  12. What a delightful, happy quilt! I especially like the dots on the back. Label? Who needs a label.

  13. rian - :) It was fun to carry the circles on to the back...especially as I couldn't decide on a fabric for the backing. The fabrics in the 9 patches were all scrap pieces, and I didn't want to introduce another pattern.
