black and white and red all over

A little more work on the Mojo piece...

Two new embroidery books that I have been perusing:

Mary Thomas's Dictionary of Embroidery Stitches

and The Embroiderer's Handbook.
I think I ordered a third one, but will have to check. My continuing birthday celebration - gifts to myself! :)

Finished The Reluctant Widow - good fun!

  1. Let me know what you think of these books. I'm looking for a good stitch dictionary. I know that you can find every imaginable stitch on line these days but I love having a hard copy.
    Thanks!

  2. Darlene - They both are excellent stitch dictionaries. I checked out the Mary Thomas one from the library recently, so I knew what to expect, and the other one may have even more stitches. Of course, I will never try all of them, but I like having the option available. Having the book in hand for reference is more satisfying to me, too!

  3. When is your birthday? Did I miss it? Have I already wished you a great one? I'm always fuzzy on the details...:)

I keep thinking about joining the embroidery guild here...I love embroidery but my own hand at it leaves me uninspired.

  4. Karoda - My birthday was Nov. 7, but I'm planning on celebrating all year. I mean, this is an important decade!
