Rainy Monday

Baby hands and feet.

I got out early to do all of my errands as we are expecting bad weather again--thunder storms, tornado watches, straight-line winds.

Went to physical therapy with Laddie today and found that he is a bit calmer when I'm there to distract him. After therapy, when he was back in the room in his wheelchair, he just zoned out, exhausted.

I got home about 10:00 and plan on doing a little laundry and a lot of reading. I've got a couple of really good nonfiction books going at the moment. One that I'm enjoying is Microtrends: The Small Forces Behind Tomorrow's Big Changes, which I've written a little about here (on my book blog). The other one that I'm enjoying is In an Instant: A Family's Journey of Love and Healing, a compelling account of ABC NEWS anchor Bob Woodruff's terrible wounds from an IED while reporting as in embed in Iraq. The story alternates between husband and wife's account of recovery and is well-written and involving.

The first of the heavy squall lines have just hit. I'm so glad, I don't have to get out again today! Lots of rain in just a few minutes! Next the temperatures are supposed to drop...as much as 30 degrees before tomorrow.

  4. Debby - I'm so "grandma!" I couldn't get her to keep still and had to hold hands and feet to keep them from waving all around, but such tiny hands and feet...I love them.
