The Morning After

Feeling better this morning, but still low on energy. I think that awful Theraflu helped, although it took a long time to get it all down. Finished The Light Years between naps yesterday afternoon and evening. Now I'm eager to get the next one.

Ensconced in the recliner and never lifting my head, I listened to the election returns, dozed, listened. The country has issued a new directive. Will we be wiser, more prudent?

  1. I hope we will be wiser and more prudent. (That made me think of Dana Carvey doing the previous Pres. Bush, saying, "Wouldn't be prudent...") I just want my brother-in-law to be able to stay home from Iraq this spring, but I know that won't happen.

  2. happy belated birthday. Sorry you were feeling under the weather for it. I got a new scanner/printer for my 'happy day' at the end of June and am still trying to absorb the finer points. For instance the power button isn't JUST a power button and I have yet to properly decode what makes it shut off without a minimum of four or five very firm presses on the button.

Hopefully, we as a country are ready to embrace some authentic wisdom and not just more finger pointing ...

  3. Jules - I can't imagine the stress involved in this. Amelia's husband is in the Air Force and is deployed regularly, but is not on the ground.

ACey -Thanks, I am feeling better, just still very tired. I'm grateful that it doesn't appear to be anything worse and that I could rest yesterday...and again today.

I can't even begin to think about the technology of my new toy, my mind doesn't do technology well even at its best!

And I agree, hopefully someone will get serious about something more than partisanship and finger pointing and make some genuine progress.

  4. Belated Happy Birthday and I'm glad you're feeling better, rest sometimes is the best thing after all.
I try to stay optimistic about our elected leaders. We live in a great country and I don't care what "color" state they are from... Wouldn't it be wonderful if they could be THE role models for our children?

  6. Oh -- the Cazalet Chronicles -- I LOVED this series. I thought that the author did an exceptional job of portraying events from the points of view of all the characters ranging from very young to very old.

You're the first person I've "met" who ever read this author. Happy reading!

  10. Happy Birthday just a bit late! Hope you're feeling a lot better, too!
I'm hoping for less squabbling and a more dignified approach to problems and solutions we all have in common in this country. Dignity, yes, that is what I'm looking for...
